Dr. Cordoba provides adult psychiatric services. Being a Texas native, he is fluent in spanish and has practiced psychiatry in Austin for the past 31 years.
He completed his Pre-Med studies at the University of Texas at El Paso, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree and received his Medical Degree from the UACJ School of Medicine in Mexico. Dr. Cordoba completed his internship and residency training at Texas Tech University Health Science Center School of Medicine where he served as Chief Resident. He was also on the residency staff at the Illinois State Psychiatric Institute in Chicago, Illinois.
At the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas, he completed a fellowship in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry later serving as an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and head of the Consultation-Liaison Department.
Beginning in 1987, he joined Austin Regional Clinic where he provided direct patient care as well as assisting Primary Care and Specialty Providers in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry. From 1991 to 1996, he was on the Austin Regional Clinic Executive Board. Then in 1999, Dr. Cordoba began his solo private practice, continuing to serve the Austin community. Dr. Cordoba is the former Psychiatric Consultant of El Buen Samaritano Episcopal Mission Primary Care Clinic.
Dr. Cordoba is a member of the Texas Medical Association, the Travis County Medical Society and a past member of the Hispanic Physicians Association of Austin.
